  • GERS SUSPENDS ALL IN-PERSON SERVICES AND WORKSHOPS

    On behalf of Administrator Austin L. Nibbs, the Government Employees’ Retirement System would like to advise its members and the general public, effective today, March 19, 2020, we are suspending all in-person services and workshops at the GERS Offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix indefinitely.




  • GERS ADVISES RETIREES WITHOUT DIRECT DEPOSIT TO ENROLL IMMEDIATELY

    GERS Administrator/CEO, Austin L. Nibbs of the Government Employees’ Retirement System (GERS) would like to advise members that in the event there is an extended shut down of the GERS offices due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the GERS will not be able to print checks remotely for retirees who receive their annuity payments by checks.

    The Government Employees’ Retirement System offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix will be closed on Friday, March 13, 2020 to allow employees to participate in an all-day Staff Development Training.




  • GERS & UVI Closes Sale of Former West Bay Supermarket Building

    The Government Employees’ Retirement System (GERS) and the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) are pleased to announce the closing on the purchase of the building that formerly housed the West Bay Supermarket for $8.4 million.
