(Friday, September 1, 2023)
GERS Administrator nominee, Angel E. Dawson Jr., wishes to advise members that the GERS received an ACH Returns report identifying several bank account numbers as incorrect, which prevented a small population of retirees from receiving their direct deposit as scheduled.
GERS Administrator nominee, Angel E. Dawson Jr., wishes to advise members that the GERS received an ACH Returns report identifying several bank account numbers as incorrect, which prevented a small population of retirees from receiving their direct deposit as scheduled.
In order for the affected retirees to receive their annuity payment, checks were printed and mailed to their address on file.
Affected retirees are asked to immediately obtain a direct deposit form from their banking institution and submit it as soon as possible. By doing so they would be in adherence with the GERS direct deposit policy and, once again, enjoy the convenience and security of direct deposits to their bank account.
The GERS also requests all members to ensure that their contact information including their mailing address, telephone number, and email address are up to date and current with the System.
We apologize for any inconvenience this banking issue may have caused. If you require further information, please contact Customer Care at 340-693-3939.
