Vacancy: Reconciliation And Control Specialist

Under the direct supervision of the Reconciliation and Control Officer, an employee in this class will be responsible for processing electronic files received from the central government and semi-autonomous agencies, releasing data into V3 Benefits and Loan System, census data, exception reports and audit related information. Obtain and manage the collection of Actuarial data from the local government agencies for present and past employees, ensure the integrity of data and ensuring accuracy. Collaborate with management to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvement. Extensive contact with other Operations departments in terms of research, identification of issues and escalation of discrepancies. Independent judgment, confidentiality, and discretion must be exercised in these positions.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitors the receipt of electronic file transmissions from the central government and semi-autonomous agencies and import data records from external platforms into agency applications.
  • Review, reconcile, validate and post all contributions and payments and prepares electronic reconciliation reports from imported files.
  • Responsible for ensuring all received electronic data conforms to the Benefits and Loans System specifications, is successfully processed by the Benefits and Loans System and meets the set standards of quality.
  • Collect, monitor, examine and take measures to correct as necessary actuarial data.
  • Generate census reports for the central government and each semi-autonomous agency.
  • Identify, research and resolve discrepancies between agency feedback and Benefits and Loan System database.
  • Submits periodic validation requests and census reports to VI Government agencies and monitor responses for completeness.
  • Assist in gathering information for audit purposes.
  • Summarize and communicate the cause of reconciliation problems to reduce the likelihood of repeat events
  • Assist in the development and implementation of solutions to eliminate systemic reconciliation causes to improve quality, ensure proper efficiency and effectiveness in data control.
  • Performs user testing of system enhancements and new software applications for accuracy and usability.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in business administration or computer information systems or related field with two (2) years’ experience working with electronic data that includes, but is not limited to: data entry, reconciliation and (payroll transaction) validation.
