ST. THOMAS
Facilities & Management Coordinator
Under the general direction of the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, the Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator oversee the maintenance of the GERS facilities to include contractors. An employee in this position is a working professional performing the work of and providing daily oversite to the Maintenance Department, engaging in highly skilled labor to support preventative maintenance plans and physical and repair of the buildings and grounds of the GERS facilities
DUTIES INCLUDE (NOT EXHAUSTIVE):
- Plans, coordinates, and directs the work of personnel engaged in day-to-day maintenance; requires the recruitment, training, and performance appraisal of such staff, oversees the buildings and building systems, custodial services, and event support.
- Evaluate maintenance requests, set priorities, and process work assignments. Responding to requests and complaints from user Departments and Tenants to ensure satisfactory services,
- Oversee routine and preventative construction and maintenance projects in all building maintenance crafts, including plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting, electrical, janitorial, landscape and cement work—assists subordinates in performing duties.
- Directs and administers the maintenance and upkeep of the GERS automotive fleet.
- Coordinates annual inspections of the fire extinguishers and elevators.
- Monitors the general upkeep of the structures, furnishings, equipment, floor coverings, acoustical ceilings, air conditioning, generator, elevator, security, and fire safety systems to ensure that the Divisions goals and objectives are met.
- Serves as project coordinator and agency's liaison with design and construction contractors for facility construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
- Reads and interprets specifications, plans, and blueprints for construction and remodeling projects. Makes recommendations before or during construction.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational achievement equivalent to a minimum of graduation from high school and five years of experience in building construction and/or maintenance work including two years in specialty building trade on a supervisory level. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirement may be substituted.
