The Government Employees' Retirement System announces the launch of its new Member Discount Program effective the 1st of October. This program will provide members access to special discounts and savings opportunities offered by some of GERS' local corporate partners.

"This has been in the makings for some time and we could not be more pleased for the opportunity to further engage our members and to make this benefit available," said Administrator, Austin L. Nibbs. "The variety and types of discounts being offered are excellent and I would personally like to thank Seaborne Airlines, Renaissance Carambola Beach Resort and Spa and the participating Havensight Mall Merchants for coming on board to make this program possible."

In order to receive the discount at participating businesses, members will be required to show proof of membership by presenting a current departmental-issued photo ID or the GERS Member Discount Card which will bear a photo of the member.

Cards will be issued by the GERS on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Tuesday, October 1between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon and 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at GERS offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix. The cost of the card is $5.00 and members are asked to bring a valid Driver's License, Passport, Senior Citizens ID or other valid government-issued photo ID for verification purposes. We accept cash only at this time.
