GERS SUSPENDS ALL IN-PERSON SERVICES AND WORKSHOPS

On behalf of Administrator Austin L. Nibbs, the Government Employees’ Retirement System would like to advise its members and the general public, effective today, March 19, 2020, we are suspending all in-person services and workshops at the GERS Offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix indefinitely.
On behalf of Administrator Austin L. Nibbs, the Government Employees’ Retirement System would like to advise its members and the general public, effective today, March 19, 2020, we are suspending all in-person services and workshops at the GERS Offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix indefinitely.
As the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation evolves, our priority is the safety and well-being of our staff and members. Adhering to the CDC’s recommendation of social distancing, we are taking these precautionary measures during this pandemic.
The GERS will continue to provide services via phone, mail, and online. We also encourage members to use member self-service at www.usvigers.com. Additionally, as long as we remain open, a secured drop site for documents will be located in our main lobby areas for all member inquiries and requests.
Our decision protects our staff and the persons we serve. We are actively monitoring COVID-19 developments and remain in contact with our local health officials and the Government of the Virgin Islands. We will inform you as soon as we can safely resume normal operations.
Thank you for your understanding. The GERS looks forward to continuing to work with you as we confront this challenge together.
