Announces Bruce Thomas as the Investment Officer

Bruce Thomas appointed as the Investment Officer of GERS effective Monday, November 21, 2011.
Austin L. Nibbs, CPA Administrator of the Government Employees' Retirement System (GERS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bruce Thomas as the Investment Officer of the GERS effective Monday, November 21, 2011. His office is in the St. Croix Complex located at # 3004 Orange Grove in Christiansted.
Since 2007, Mr. Thomas has been employed with the City of Milwaukee Employees Retirement System (CMERS) as a Pension Investment Analyst reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer.
Mr. Thomas’s previous employment has been with US Bank in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a Fund Accountant and The Northern Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois as a Portfolio Accounting Analyst and Fund Accountant.
He earned a BBA degree in Finance and a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Management Information Systems from the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Mr. Thomas will head up the new Investment Unit and has passed Level I of the CFA exam and is a candidate for Level II.
He is originally from St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
