Upon the death of a member, the Employees’ Retirement System of the Government of the Virgin Islands (GERS) will processes death benefit payments to the beneficiaries of the deceased member. The benefits shall include the members’ total contributions for active members and the member’s total contributions plus the retiree’s vested interest for retired members.
