Which Tier Are You?  Tier I: Hired Before September 30, 2005    Tier II: Hired on or after October 1, 2005


Full Service Retirement:

A member may receive a full service retirement annuity when he/she has attained:

  • 30 years of credited service notwithstanding age.
  • 10 years of credited service and at least 60 years of age.

Tier I: Years of service are calculated at 2.5%

Tier II: Years of service are calculated at 1.75%


Early Retirement:

A member may apply for early retirement when he/she has attained:

  • 10 years of credited service and at least 50 years of age.
  • There is a .325 reduction for each month the member is less than age 60

Tier I: Years of service are calculated at 2.5%

Tier II: Years of service are calculated at 1.75%

 

Incremental Increase

Retiree benefits are increased by a percentage rate determined yearly by the Board of Trustees upon attaining age 60 and upon completing one year on the retiree payroll.
