2020 Election Candidate Nomination Packet

Would you like to help shape the future of the Government Employees' Retirement System? We've been looking for you!

Each candidate shall be a GERS Retiree, have a minimum of five years experience and at least a Bachelor's degree in any of the following: Investment Banking; Economics; Finance; Insurance; Law; Medicine; Accounting; Actuarial Science; Taxation; Real Estate Appraisal or Brokerage and Securities Trading.

To be considered for nomination as a candidate for the Board, a completed packet must include the Nominating Petition, Biographical Sketch, and Candidate Questions. Please ensure that submitted forms are completed and signed.

Past Election

GERS CONDUCTS ELECTIONS FOR RETIREES TO SERVE ON ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES EVERY FIVE YEARS

In accordance with Act 6794 known as the Reform Act of 2005, GERS conducted elections for retirees to serve on its Board of Trustees, November 2nd through December 11th 2016.

The successful candidate for the St. Thomas/St. John District was Wilbur K. Callender, M.D.

Edgar D. Ross, J.D., St. Croix representative, retained his seat as there were no other candidates in that District.

Congratulations to both retiree representatives!

Note: Eligibility requirements state that only retirees of the Government who are members of the system are eligible to vote and seek election to the Board.
