Which Tier Are You?  Tier I: Hired Before September 30, 2005     Tier II: Hired on or after October 1, 2005

Any Member who becomes totally and permanently incapacitated for service as a direct result of the performance of his/her duties:

  • Tier I: 75% of the members rate of compensation at the date of the disability, less Worker's Compensation payments, with a maximum benefit of $65,000.00.
  • Tier II: 52.5% of the members rate of compensation at the date of disability, less Worker's Compensation payments, with a maximum benefit of $65,000.00.

Incremental Increase

Disability benefits are increased by 1% per year prior to age 60.  Upon attaining age 60, the benefits are increased to 1.5%.
